About
We envision an Aurora where everyone has access to healthy food and tools for self-sufficiency. Aurora Interfaith operates as a volunteer-driven organization, with over 80% of our workforce comprised of dedicated volunteers. We cultivate a sense of community and belonging, prioritizing care and compassion in all our efforts.
The Full Story
In 1968, the women of Aurora Church Women United noted a great need for a united effort to provide emergency assistance to residents of Aurora. At that time, the group that consisted of seven local churches began collecting food and clothing from their friends and congregations, with churches providing rooms for storage. Since then, the organization has purchased a building and has been feeding the hungry in Aurora ever since!
